Presenter Bios/Class Descriptions:
Ron Arbel is a Holistic Health Practitioner with an Associates degree in Holistic Studies, a Board Certified Structural Integrator. Ron has been practicing Rolf Structural Integration, human movement potential, and connective tissue work in his private practice in the San Diego area since 1999. Ron Arbel (www.ronarbelhhp.com) is Primary Faculty at the International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB www.ipsb.edu) teaching Structural Integration and anatomy since 2001. Ron functions as the Structural Integration department coordinator; and is a Co-author of the book A Dynamic Relationship to Gravity.Ron is one of few senior Rossiter instructors in this country that certify Rossiter coaches. Oleg Bouimer is the Director of Advanced Studies at Southern California Health Institute and a former professional athlete from the Ukraine, has been a rehabilitation specialist, researcher & educator for over two decades.Oleg has graduated with honors from The State Institute of Physical Education, Ukraine and conducted experimental studies on the effectiveness of massage therapy with injuries in sports at The Center for Scientific Research Studies at The State Medical Institute in Ukraine. Oleg is Executive Director of the Global Wellness Institute, a non-profit organization, with a main focus on massage therapy research.Class Description: This course is based on several decades of scientific studies of the effects of massage on athletic performance in the former USSR. It offers a blend of scientific facts presented in understandable terms, and their practical application. It covers pre-event, post-event and training variations of sports massage. The wide range of kneading techniques is explored as the main tool in working with muscles. Biomechanics of the therapists are addressed. This is a hands-on course with emphasis on working deeper with less effort.

Ariel F. Hubbard, H.H.P., R.M.T. has practiced modalities in the Holistic Health field since 1988. She has been a professional member of the AMTA since 1997, nationally-certified since 2008 and California state-certified since 2011. She is the founder of the California Academy for the Healing Arts, an academy that provides vocational training in holistic health as well as maintaining a private holistic health care practice.Class Description: Reflexology is an effective and powerful adjunct modality to massage. Carol Osborne has dedicated over 30 years of her professional career to developing prenatal and deep tissue massage therapy as a practitioner, author and award-winning, international educator. She is the author of Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy, and of Deep Tissue Sculpting, a contributing author to Teaching Massage Therapy, and a frequent contributor to professional periodicals and on-line resources. Teri Roges ~ Acupressurist, Holistic Health Practitioner, Writer, Teacher, Healer and Naturopath has been studying massage and Eastern healing arts since 1980 throughout the United States and the Pacific Rim. Since 1985, she has taught massage and Eastern modalities at several colleges, massage conferences and exclusive spas in the United States.Class Description:Sat AM:The Front Mu and Back Shu points on the torso of the body are a reflection of what is going on with every organ, system and meridian of the body. This class would show the location and why they are so important. Students would determine how to identify, palpate and balance these points. This is a technique that can be an addition to any other style of treatment.Sun AM:This is an ancient treatment for opening and balancing the energy centers of the body, grounding the energy, and balancing the magnetic energy poles. It is extremely helpful with hyperactive clients and children; severe and terminal illnesses; unsettled, nervous or grieving people. Students will learn techniques that can even be used with people in a coma. This is also a very calming way to end a massage session with your client.
Bruce Schonfeld, Certified Advanced Rolfer, has dual backgrounds in Fascial Manipulation associated with Rolfing Structural Integration and Visceral Osteopathy. He has taught Structural Integration since 1996 and studied Visceral Manipulation since 1997, including directly with Jean-Pierre Barral, DO since 2001.Class Description: As structure and function are inter-related, Structural-Visceral Integration (S-VI) offers a Systems Anatomy perspective regarding Qi stagnation and physical mobilization of the Liver. Holistic assessment, palpation and the restoration of normal range of motion to motion restricted anatomy is the focus of this hands-on class. Often the anatomical elephant in the room regarding the therapeutic equation, the musculo-skeletal system is often in a chronic state of secondary compensation around underlying visceral and membranous restrictions offsetting alignment and structural integrity.
Ronda Wimmer, OMD/DOM, MS, LAc, ATC, CSCS, CMT Ronda Wimmer has been in the sports medicine profession for over twenty five years. Her experience and expertise is unique and extremely diversified academically and clinically. Her teaching background is multi-disciplined and she is currently teaching at Chapman University, Golden West College, California State University, Long Beach and South Baylo University. Dr. Wimmer is an advocate and recognized authority in promoting and implementing Oriental medicine as part of the sports medicine team and for preserving indigenous cultural heritage. Clinically, she has a private practice in Newport Beach, CA and has traveled nationally and internationally working with Olympic athletes as part of the sports medicine team for the 2004 Olympics in Athens and the 2008 Volleyball World League Championship; she has also worked with the USA Men's Volleyball Team and currently with the Anaheim Ducks.She has lectured internationally on sports medicine, written numerous articles, taught seminars, appeared on national radio and TV, and has peer reviewed and published several books within sports medicine, anatomy, physiology, ethnomedicine, and Oriental medicine.Class Description: This seminar will discuss the breath of depth of working with a sports medicine team, integration of Eastern diagnostic philosophy used in treating injuries and performance enhancement, injury mechanisms and assessments, comparative between diagnostic methods and treatment a approach, similarities and differences of working with elite athletes and the general population. We will also address if time permits advances and dilemmas in research.
