Dr. Klein is inventor of tumescent anesthesia using local lidocaine. After more than 500,000 procedures, his initial work is credited as the origin of AWAKE procedures. Although repetitive in many areas, he clearly explains the science behind his protocols. After 10 years in print, the information is not only valid, it continues to be used as the starting point of the research and practice of tumescent anesthesia.
