I am thinking of getting liposuction in the legs and buttocks. What is the recovery period for this kind of surgery and have you had any success with it? Could I do this on a Friday and be back to work on Monday? Any personal experiences would be great to share.

Liposuction is often performed as a same-day procedure, where you go to the surgeon’s office, free-standing clinic, or hospital, have the procedure and go home that day. Your surgeon will give you a detailed list of instructions to follow in the days after your procedure.
You will have some pain, bruising and swelling after the surgery, but this should subside within a few weeks. If the pain becomes extreme, contact your surgeon. Using cold compresses on the treated areas can minimize swelling and bruising. Your surgeon may instruct you about this.

sorry so late with an update: smoo had surgery to remove a malignant tumour along her thigh (just under this scar, running nearly 75% of the leg), a hernia that started just on the other side (so there is a similar scar on her belly close to same thigh), and since the doc was doing that decided to give her a little liposuction (shown here). a few years ago, smoo was attacked by five rottweilers who nearly tore off this leg–the hump was a result of one of her surgeries. when the doc removed the fat, she found a thick layer of scar tissue which she either loosened up or removed (don’t know), and underneath that she found a gaping hole led directly to smoo’s spine. which meant that one of the dogs bit through to her spine. it was then the doctor realized that if smoo could survive that attack, a stage 2 malignant tumour probably wasn’t going to kill her. her lungs and lymph nodes seem fine for now. so…no chemo just yet, we’ll check the blood tests in a couple of months.

Recovery is about 2 weeks. With the right pain killers you could make it back to work by monday, but it would not be fun. But it was some of the best money I ever spent.!!!!
